The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer specializing in SAP Development to join our IT team. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining SAP applications and solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements, design technical solutions, ensure the successful implementation of SAP projects and drive operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in SAP technologies, demonstrate a proven track record of successful SAP project implementations, exhibit strong problem-solving abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality software solutions.

What You'll Do:

  • Design and Development: Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of SAP solutions, including enhancements, customizations, and integrations using SAP BTP, ABAP, SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, and other SAP technologies (CAP, HANA Cloud etc.)
  • System Implementation: Participate in the full lifecycle of SAP projects, from requirement gathering and analysis to go-live and post-implementation support
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards and fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth. Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and performance optimization
  • Collaboration: Work closely with functional teams, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions
  • Methodology: Adhere to Clean core guiding principles, adapt cloud-based applications using SAP Cloud Platform tools and technologies and embrace cloud mindset
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals
  • Support and Maintenance: Provide ongoing support and maintenance for SAP systems, including troubleshooting and issue resolution

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology) or equivalent experience.
  • Several years of hands-on SAP experience including extensive experience developing and enhancing solutions developed in RICEFW, RAP & OData
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in SAP BTP implementation for application development, automation, and data & analytics
  • Proficiency in SAP ABAP programming, including RESTful programming, CDS, modern extensibility, etc.
  • Strong experience with SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, and OData services
  • Knowledge of SAP modules such as SAP SD, MM, FI/CO, or others
  • Knowledge of BTP tools/services like SAP Build Work Zone, Business Application Studio, and GIT
  • Experience developing cloud-based applications on the SAP BTP platform
  • Experience with SAP HANA and S/4HANA environments with S/4HANA upgrades and ECC to S/4HANA upgrades with code remediation
  • Familiarity with SAP Cloud Platform, RISE, and SAP integration technologies (IDocs, RFC, BAPI, SOAP, REST)
  • Develops globally compatible, reusable, and flexible technical frameworks/architecture

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Exposure to and/or knowledge of SAP new-dimensional technologies like AEM, SAP Datasphere, Flexible Workflow, and Jouleare a plus.
  • Experience with SAP Automotive Suite, or similar industry solutions.

Hybrid:
This role is categorized as hybrid. The successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, MI or Austin, TX, three times per week, at minimum, or as dictated by business needs.
