We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to design and implement healthcare solutions across utilization management, care management, provider data management, network management and provider relations. The role requires deep expertise in payor systems and collaboration across multiple business functions.

Responsibilities
  • Define and architect software architecture and integrations for and across business functions and solutions, ensuring scalability, flexibility, sustainability, performance, reliability, and security.
  • Lead cross‑functional collaboration with product managers, architects, and engineering teams to align technical strategies with business objectives.
  • Mentor team members, enforce best coding practices, prepare technical specifications, and provide low‑level design to ensure scalability and high quality.
  • Communicate and solve high‑stakes technical problems that span multiple teams.
  • Own the design, development, and debugging of critical, large‑scale systems and infrastructure.
  • Develop scalable integration layers using Java, .NET APIs, and healthcare‑interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, EDI X12).
  • Operate on Azure Cloud services including Azure Integration Services, Azure Data Factory, Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Event Hub, and AKS.
  • Create high‑level and low‑level designs, sequence diagrams, and architecture flows for enterprise applications, and manage relational (SQL Server) and non‑relational (MongoDB, Cosmos DB) databases.
  • Implement AI‑driven development using GPT‑4X, Claude 3.5, and other coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Claude Code.
  • Specialize in one or more areas such as network, operating systems, databases, or applications.
  • Support SCAN’s vision by leveraging AI to transform how we operate and serve members.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in software development.
  • Advanced analytical skills and problem‑solving ability.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Preferred certifications: Microsoft Azure AI Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure AI Fundamentals.
