Position Overview

The Forward Function Healthcare Center is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team in McMinnville, Oregon. This full-time position plays a critical role in empowering residents within our rehabilitation facility to regain their independence and enhance their quality of life through personalized therapy interventions.

Work Environment

As an Occupational Therapist, you will work onsite at our well-equipped rehabilitation facility in McMinnville. Our center is designed to support a variety of therapy needs, featuring multiple therapy spaces tailored for individualized care and group therapy sessions. Your work week will typically run Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced professional life. Collaborating closely with other healthcare professionals in a dynamic environment, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality therapy services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of residents' physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities to identify areas that require intervention.
  • Develop individualized therapy plans that address each resident's specific goals and needs, utilizing evidence-based methodologies.
  • Guide residents through carefully designed treatment programs focused on enhancing mobility, fine motor skills, and activities of daily living.
  • Track patient progress through regular evaluations, adjust care plans as needed, and ensure meticulous documentation in compliance with industry regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to create cohesive care strategies that reflect the best interest of the residents.
  • Educate residents and their families about therapeutic techniques and home exercises to reinforce skills developed in therapy sessions.
  • Remain updated on best practices and emerging trends in occupational therapy to continuously improve care standards within the facility.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on working with a diverse population of residents who have varied needs, ranging from those recovering from surgery or injury to individuals managing chronic conditions or cognitive impairments. Each resident presents unique challenges and opportunities for growth, making your role essential in adapting therapies to foster independence and enhance overall well-being.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Current and active Occupational Therapy license in the state of Oregon.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare setting, demonstrating a solid understanding of therapeutic practices and patient care.
  • Proficient in utilizing electronic medical records (EMR) systems and maintaining accurate documentation to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with patients, families, and other team members.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in a rehabilitation or assisted living setting preferred but not required.
  • Additional certifications in specialized therapy techniques or interventions are an asset.
  • Familiarity with contemporary therapy tools and technologies that enhance patient engagement and outcomes.
Compensation and Benefits
