Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations to assess the severity, frequency, and implications of mood disorder symptoms in clients.
• Develop individualized treatment plans in conjunction with clients, integrating their goals and preferences into the therapeutic process.
• Implement evidence-based interventions, utilizing therapeutic methodologies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to facilitate change.
• Education and support are key; you will guide clients and their families on understanding mood disorders, treatment options, and self-care practices tailored to enhance recovery.
• Monitor and document client progress, modifying treatment plans as necessary to ensure sustained growth and support.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to offer an integrated care approach that addresses the holistic needs of clients.
• Stay informed regarding current research and emerging trends in mood disorders to continually evolve your treatment strategies.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records, ensuring compliance with all legal and ethical guidelines.
• Engage in regular professional development workshops and team meetings, contributing to a culture of collaborative learning.
• Advocate for mental health awareness and support the needs of marginalized communities, including the homeless, refugees, and domestic abuse survivors.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with clients suffering from a variety of mood disorders such as depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. Your services will significantly benefit individuals facing challenging life circumstances, including those from underserved populations. Your role is pivotal not just in treatment, but also in empowering these clients through education and resources that enhance their capacity for self-advocacy and long-term recovery.

Qualifications

• Possess a current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
• A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual salary ranging from $70,000 to $90,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
