Take the Lead on Enterprise Database SolutionsAcara Solutions is seeking an experienced Database Administrator IV to join a leading financial institution in Buffalo, NY. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior-level database professional who thrives on designing enterprise-scale database solutions, driving technical strategy, and partnering with business and technology leaders to deliver secure, high-performing systems.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Database Administrator IV, you'll play a critical role in shaping the organization's database environment by:
- Architecting and designing enterprise-level RDBMS solutions for complex initiatives
- Serving as the technical subject matter expert for database technologies and best practices
- Partnering with application owners and technology teams to deliver scalable, secure database solutions
- Translating business requirements into technical database designs and recommendations
- Leading database strategy for regulatory, compliance, maintenance, and enhancement initiatives
- Driving database performance tuning, optimization, reliability, and availability
- Evaluating new database technologies and vendor solutions
- Managing business continuity, disaster recovery, auditing, and risk mitigation processes
- Leading testing efforts and ensuring successful implementation of database enhancements
- Providing technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior database professionals
- Collaborating with architecture teams, vendors, executives, and business stakeholders on enterprise initiatives
- Supporting production environments while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
We're seeking a highly experienced database professional with:
- Expert-level experience administering Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS)
- Strong database architecture and enterprise solution design experience
- Proven ability to lead complex technical projects from concept through implementation
- Experience working within highly regulated enterprise environments (banking, finance, healthcare, etc. preferred)
- Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, optimization, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery
- Experience supporting compliance, audit, and risk management initiatives
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to mentor technical teams and provide strategic technical direction
- Experience working with vendors and evaluating emerging technologies
