Job description

Responsibilities/Job Duties
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Field Service Engineers and technicians capable of supporting all major basins of operation
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting support for complex compression systems (150-700+ HP units, high-pressure gas lift, and custom applications) for operations and customers
  • Establish standardized engineering practices for installation, commissioning, and field modifications
  • Act as escalation point for critical field failures and customer-impacting issues
  • Identify systemic equipment issues based on telemetry data and performance data and implement engineered solutions across the fleet
  • Partner with supply chain and operations to standardize components and reduce failure points where appropriate
  • Support the sales and commercial teams through customer change requests, equipment modification requests, and application strategy.
  • Support root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and corrective action programs
  • Own field-level execution of emissions strategy (methane reduction, compliance, and reporting)
  • Ensure fleet adherence to federal, state, and local regulations (EPA, state environmental agencies), supporting operations and sales for customer driven emissions requests.
  • Support deployment of emissions monitoring technologies and retrofits
  • Lead and prioritize field-driven engineering projects (retrofits, redesigns, efficiency improvements)
  • Support new product introductions and field validation of emerging technologies
  • Work cross-functionally with Surface Equipment teams to transition designs into scalable field solutions
  • Support the evaluation and deployment of automation, remote monitoring, and digital diagnostics tools where appropriate
  • Manage projects and NPD efforts related to fleet improvements and performance optimization
  • Build and lead a structured training program for Field Service Engineers and technicians
  • Develop technical training curriculum (compression systems, controls, emissions systems, troubleshooting)
  • Establish certification standards and career progression pathways
  • Promote a culture of safety, technical rigor, and continuous learning
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in oil & gas equipment, compression, or rotating equipment
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing field-based technical teams and/or engineers
  • Deep expertise in natural gas compression systems (reciprocating compressors, engines, controls)
  • Strong understanding of emissions regulations and field compliance requirements
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional engineering and operational initiatives
  • Experience with Ariel compressors and gas lift applications
Preferred
  • Familiarity with digital monitoring systems (SCADA, IoT, predictive maintenance tools)
  • Six Sigma / Lean certification or similar continuous improvement training

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, sit and/or walk on a hard surface as well as safely bend, stoop, reach, climb steps, and use ladder for long periods of time daily
  • Lift up to 40 pounds as needed
  • Vision required: 20/40 with or without corrective lenses to accurately read all related distribution documents
  • Ability to communicate verbally using a telephone
