Position Summary

The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day operation of the branch, including leading and developing branch staff, delivering excellent customer service, maintaining strong operational standards, developing customer relationships, and supporting the Bank's sales and community involvement efforts.

This position is a great fit for someone who is people-oriented, customer-service driven, adaptable, and interested in growing their career in community banking.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop branch Customer Service Representatives.
  • Coordinate employee schedules and daily responsibilities to ensure effective branch coverage and operations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and assist in resolving customer questions or concerns.
  • Maintain strong operational controls, including cash handling, balancing, vault and ATM activity, security procedures, and branch audits.
  • Support and direct branch efforts to identify customer needs, cross-sell Bank products and services, and make appropriate referrals to other areas of the Bank.
  • Open new accounts and perform other customer service functions as needed.
  • Assist customers with consumer lending needs, including preparing loan information and working within established lending authority and procedures.
  • Promote accuracy, efficiency, and consistency within branch operations and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained and that backup coverage exists for essential branch functions.
  • Represent First National Bank within the local community and support branch involvement in community events, volunteer opportunities, sponsorships, and other activities.
  • Help oversee the appearance, supplies, maintenance, and overall functioning of the branch.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support customers, employees, and the Bank.

The formal description also includes responsibility for consumer loan documentation and approvals within established limits, community sponsorship and volunteer coordination, and general oversight of branch facilities and supplies.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous banking, financial services, customer service, supervisory, or leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to coach and develop employees while maintaining accountability and high service standards.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with customers, employees, and other departments throughout the Bank.
  • Comfortable using common computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability and willingness to become a registered notary.
