    Job description

FindTalent is seeking a driven and experienced Project Manager to lead utility-scale substation projects for a respected infrastructure contractor. This role will be responsible for overseeing multiple small-to-mid-sized projects or managing phases of larger projects, ensuring safe, on-time, and profitable delivery. The Project Manager will play a critical role from bid development through final closeout, balancing client expectations with operational excellence.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional who thrives in dynamic environments, values safety as a top priority, and wants to contribute to strengthening the region’s power grid and critical energy infrastructure.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage the full project lifecycle, including bidding, planning, execution, and closeout, for substation and related energy infrastructure projects.

    • Oversee budgets, schedules, contracts, and resources to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within scope.

    • Partner with estimating, engineering, and field operations teams to align on project deliverables.

    • Develop and maintain strong client relationships while ensuring satisfaction with project outcomes.

    • Monitor project performance, provide reporting, and proactively address risks or issues.

    • Promote and enforce safety practices across all project activities.

    • Lead subcontractor coordination, contract negotiations, and vendor management.

    • Contribute to process improvements that support efficiency and quality.

    Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, or related discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.

    • 3+ years of experience managing utility, substation, or energy-related construction projects.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

    • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

    • Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.

    • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

    • Willingness to travel as needed to project sites.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Prior experience with substation, switchyard, or battery energy storage system (BESS) projects.

    • Familiarity with project scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project, or similar).
