Job description

Reports to:  Building Principal
Education and Experience:


  • Minimum requirement of 60 hours of college
  • Minimum requirement of Missouri Substitute Certification, or the ability to meet the requirements to become certified
  • Educational training and/or PK-12 Experience is preferred
  • Strong technology skills, required
  • Knowledge of the use of the Internet for research purposes, preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with Google Suite and other computer applications, preferred
  • Experience with and/or knowledge and understanding of best practices in instruction, preferred.


 Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Maintains confidentiality of information gained through the performance and location of the position
  • Plans, prepares, and develops various teaching aids
  • Creates learning materials geared to student's ability and interest
  • Presents subject matter to students, utilizing variety of methods and techniques
  • May prepare, administer, and grade examinations as directed by the teacher
  • Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts
  • Maintains discipline
  • May confer with parents on progress of students as directed by the supervisor
  • Supervises students during class and learning activities, as assigned
  • Supervision of students during lunch and/or recess, as assigned
  • Takes all reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
  • Complies with policy, procedures, regulations, and law
  • Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.
  • Works with high school and alternative programming.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned
