Position Overview

Expressive Expression Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments to establish a comprehensive understanding of each client's mental health needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
• Utilize a range of therapeutic techniques tailored to the individual's diagnosis, which may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and more.
• Facilitate regular therapy sessions with clients, guiding them through challenges related to anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and eating disorders.
• Provide clients with practical tools and coping strategies to manage their mental health effectively, while closely monitoring their progress and adjusting treatment as necessary.
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including psychiatrists and primary care physicians, to ensure a holistic approach to client health.
• Document all client interactions and treatment outcomes using our advanced electronic health record (EHR) system, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse population of clients, including adolescents and adults, from various cultural backgrounds. Many individuals will come to you seeking help with mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, and substance use issues. Given the increasing awareness around mental health, your ability to engage in culturally responsive therapy will be critical to fostering trust and rapport with clients.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid license as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMFT, LPCC, LCSW) in the state of California.
• Minimum of 4 years of clinical experience in a mental health setting, with a demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of mental health conditions.
• Strong understanding of evidence-based treatment approaches and the ability to adapt therapeutic modalities to accommodate the needs of diverse clients.
• Competence in crisis intervention and conflict resolution, with an ability to remain composed in challenging situations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building strong therapeutic relationships with clients.
• Proficient in utilizing electronic health record systems and comfortable with technology to enhance service delivery.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in working with groups, providing both individual and family therapy.
• Knowledge of community resources and networks for referrals and additional support for clients.
• Previous experience with teletherapy and virtual counseling frameworks.

Compensation and Benefits
