Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Bachelor-level Intern pursuing a degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field. This internship is unpaid and provides hands-on experience in a supportive, supervised environment where interns will gain practical skills while learning professional standards and ethical practices in human services.

Minimum Qualifications and experience:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of human behavior, mental health, or social services
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
  • Reliable, responsible, and eager to learn
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule

Minimum skills and knowledge:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong computer skills
  • Experience with systems (e.g. DMH, DPH, DCF) preferred but not required
  • Experience working with youth and families preferred but not required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Skills with spoken and written languages are desirable but not required


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and supervision sessions
  • Collaborate closely and effectively with all other members of the team.
  • Participate in quality improvement and assurance projects related to the program.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records in accordance with agency policies
  • Conduct research, data entry, or program evaluations as assigned
  • Provide administrative and program support as needed
  • Observe and support counseling, case management, or group sessions under supervision
  • Help develop and implement support plans, resources, or educational materials
