Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Bachelor-level Intern pursuing a degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field. This internship is unpaid and provides hands-on experience in a supportive, supervised environment where interns will gain practical skills while learning professional standards and ethical practices in human services.
Minimum Qualifications and experience:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field
- Basic understanding of human behavior, mental health, or social services
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Reliable, responsible, and eager to learn
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
Minimum skills and knowledge:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong computer skills
- Experience with systems (e.g. DMH, DPH, DCF) preferred but not required
- Experience working with youth and families preferred but not required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Skills with spoken and written languages are desirable but not required
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and supervision sessions
- Collaborate closely and effectively with all other members of the team.
- Participate in quality improvement and assurance projects related to the program.
- Maintain accurate, confidential records in accordance with agency policies
- Conduct research, data entry, or program evaluations as assigned
- Provide administrative and program support as needed
- Observe and support counseling, case management, or group sessions under supervision
- Help develop and implement support plans, resources, or educational materials
