We are hiring a Part - Time Dispatcher, 28 hours a week average could turn into full time for the right candidate. The Transit Dispatcher is responsible for providing a variety of public transportation information to the passengers, the public and other public agencies; provide quality customer service, schedule ride request, and communication with Transit Drivers.

Requirements:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and scheduling of transit routes.
  • Receive transportation requests using the transit dispatch software, and monitor operation and accuracy.
  • Check transit routes to ensure efficiency.
  • Assist with accurate record keeping.
  • Monitor communication between drivers in the field for the purpose of assisting drivers needing assistance.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Must be able to work every other weekend.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must have a valid driver license and a good, clean, driving record.
  • Computer literacy: Dispatchers need to be able to use transport software and have a strong sense of data management.
  • Must have excellent problem solving.
  • Judgment: Dispatchers need to be able to make decisions quickly and prioritize calls by level of importance. They should be able to recognize the difference between emergencies and non - emergencies.
  • Organization: Dispatchers need to be organized and able to multitask.
  • Attention to detail: Dispatchers need to pay close attention to detail.
  • Employees will be subject to Pre-Employment drug screening and random drug screening for drug and alcohol as required by FTA regulations.
  • Knowledge of computers, cell phone, and two-way radio.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Flexibility in working hours
  • Must be able to work every other weekend.

Note: Previous experience is preferred but not required. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
