This role focuses on the design, analysis, and coordination of HVAC systems, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions from concept through construction.

The Project Engineer plays a key role in developing system designs, preparing technical documentation, and ensuring compliance with building codes, ASHRAE standards, and industry best practices. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer looking to grow within a collaborative, project-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop HVAC systems, including air distribution and water piping systems.
  • Perform heating and cooling load calculations for a variety of building types.
  • Prepare engineering documents including plans, specifications, reports, and construction documents.
  • Support projects through all phases including program analysis, design development, bidding, and construction administration.
  • Ensure designs comply with building codes, ASHRAE standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Utilize design software such as AutoCAD to produce accurate and coordinated drawings.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and project teams to ensure efficient system integration.
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate technical information to stakeholders.
  • Provide support during construction, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals.
  • Assist in troubleshooting design issues and ensuring system performance requirements are met.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in HVAC design or mechanical engineering.
  • Experience designing air distribution systems and water piping systems.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, ASHRAE standards, and mechanical design principles.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar design software.
  • Experience performing heating and cooling load calculations.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on public works or commercial building projects.
  • Familiarity with construction administration and field support activities.
  • Experience supporting projects from concept through completion.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or working toward Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
