Job description

 

Role Description

We are looking for a professional Line Cook to prepare food to the exact chef's specifications and to set up stations for menu. Line Cook duties will consist of assisting the executive and sous chef with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strong knife skills and a range of cooking methods
  • Prepare food from scratch by following our recipes to produce consistent results. 
  • Must be able to prepare all menu items.
  • Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies.
  • Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
  • Answer, report, and follow executive or sous chef's instructions.
  • Clean up the station and take care of leftover food.
  • Stock inventory appropriately.
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion.
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience, skills, and knowledge:

  • Attention to detail: must know weights, measurements, and volumes. 
  • Mathematics - Using mathematics to solve problems.
  • Have an eye for detail and can comfortably and calmly perform effectively in a high-volume environment.
  • Cleanliness and organization: must know where everything is, and everything has a place. 
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation standards. Work clean. 
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
  • Familiar with the industry's best practices.
  • Hospitality-related kitchen experience preferred.
  • Current food handler's care and other certifications as required by federal/state/local law.

The ideal candidate will have the following competencies and qualities:

  • Must have 1+ year high-volume restaurant experience.
  • Must have Food Handlers Certification.
  • Proven cooking experience, including experience as a Line Chef, Restaurant Cook or Prep Cook.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift up to 25 pounds, and continuously bend, reach, and twist.
  • Availability to work weekends and some holidays.
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient club operations.
  • Must be reliable and dependable.
  • Overall, we are looking for someone with good customer service skills, good communication skills, and someone willing to work in a team environment, it takes a team to keep our kitchens going.
