This full-time remote position emphasizes a collaborative approach to counseling, focusing on empowering our senior population to navigate the complexities of aging, loss, and life transitions. The ideal candidate will bring at least four years of relevant experience and a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by older adults.

About the Organization

At Cure Connect Consulting, located in the vibrant city of Cambridge, Massachusetts, we pride ourselves on delivering specialized mental health services that cater to the distinct needs of the geriatric community. Our commitment is to foster an environment that promotes emotional well-being and resilience among seniors through evidence-based therapy methods. Our Geriatric Care Clinic is a warm, supportive space where clients can receive individual attention from experienced professionals who understand the aging process.

Work Environment

This position is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility while you engage with clients in their homes or outpatient settings. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team committed to enhancing the lives of elderly individuals. Core working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, creating a structured yet adaptable schedule suited for both clinicians and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly residents to accurately identify their specific care needs and create tailored treatment plans.
  • Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions to help clients address emotional challenges related to aging, including coping with changes in health and lifestyle.
  • Work in partnership with other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive, client-centered care plans that integrate therapeutic goals with physical health needs.
  • Educate family members and staff on effective strategies for enhancing emotional wellness and improving the quality of life for elderly clients.
  • Provide specialized grief and loss counseling, offering support to residents and their families as they navigate end-of-life issues.
  • Implement cognitive stimulation programs designed to maintain and promote cognitive health and mental acuity in older adults.
  • Regularly document client progress and treatment effectiveness using established clinical frameworks to ensure accountability and quality of care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on elderly clients, often dealing with complex mental health issues stemming from age-related transitions. These may include grief from the loss of loved ones, anxiety related to declining independence, or struggles with chronic conditions. Your empathetic approach will be crucial as you engage with diverse backgrounds, respecting cultural nuances and their impact on mental health.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
  • A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential in Massachusetts.
  • Minimum four years of recent, hands-on experience in geriatric mental health counseling.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of evidence-based interventions tailored to older populations.
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive assessments and develop personalized treatment approaches tailored to individual client needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively build relationships with clients and their families.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical and legal standards in mental health practices.
Preferred Experience
  • Additional training or certification in geriatric mental health or related fields.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary healthcare framework.
  • Skills in utilizing digital tools and resources for telehealth appointments and client management.
  • Involvement in community outreach or educational programs focused on elder care.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 65,000 to 95,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to your salary, we provide a sign-on bonus as part of our commitment to attract top-tier talent. Benefits include an employee assistance program for confidential support, wellness resources, and flexible work arrangements to enhance your life balance.
