Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive intake assessments to evaluate clients' mental health concerns, strengths, and needs, allowing for a thorough understanding of their backgrounds and objectives.
• Develop and implement highly individualized treatment plans that reflect the insights gained from assessments, aligning with specific client goals to ensure meaningful and measurable progress.
• Provide therapeutic services—including individual, group, and family therapy—utilizing evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and solution-focused therapies, effectively addressing complex emotional issues.
• Regularly monitor and document clients' therapeutic progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes and sustained engagement.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals—including psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and case managers—to coordinate holistic care tailored to clients' diverse needs.
• Advocate for clients' rights and facilitate access to appropriate mental health resources and community services, enhancing their overall well-being and addressing social determinants of mental health.
• Adhere strictly to ethical standards of practice and maintain confidentiality in accordance with state licensing regulations and professional guidelines.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited institution is required.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in New York is essential.
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience, especially in specializing in mood disorders, is preferred for this role.
• In-depth knowledge of evidence-based treatment approaches for mood disorders, including CBT and DBT, is crucial for effective therapy delivery.
• Strong understanding of psychopharmacology is important, as collaboration with psychiatrists and other medical professionals will be frequent.
• A track record demonstrating successful outcomes in treating mood disorders will set candidates apart.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working with a range of therapeutic modalities and client demographics.
• Prior involvement in a community health clinic setting is highly advantageous.
• Familiarity with teletherapy tools and best practices for remote therapy sessions.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from $115,000 to $130,000 annually, commensurate with experience and caseload.
