Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health to establish treatment goals and strategies based on evidence-based practices.
  • Deliver short-term individual counseling and crisis intervention services catering to patients facing a variety of challenges, such as anxiety, depression, and trauma.
  • Lead therapy groups and conduct workshops that focus on themes pertinent to emotional well-being and personal growth.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including medical staff and patient support services, to ensure holistic care for each patient.
  • Participate in outreach and education initiatives aimed at raising mental health awareness within the community.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential patient records, ensuring compliance with ethical and legal regulations.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The Counselor will primarily work with a diverse patient population seeking support for various mental health issues. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the unique challenges faced by individuals from different backgrounds and adapting therapeutic approaches to cater to those nuances, thus ensuring effective patient engagement and improved outcomes.

Qualifications
  • Active state license in one of the following: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Psychoanalyst, or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related field is required.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in addressing mental health issues prevalent in the hospital and community settings.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster strong relationships with patients and staff.
  • Knowledge of and experience with evidence-based therapies suited for a clinical counseling environment.
  • The capacity to work independently while managing a varied caseload effectively.
Preferred Experience

The ideal candidate will possess at least two years of relevant clinical experience, particularly in a telehealth setting or within a hospital framework. Experience conducting group therapy and leading workshops is highly desirable, as is familiarity with electronic health record systems utilized in mental health services.
