Retreat Program Manager
Preferred start date: mid-October 2026
The Occidental Arts and Ecology Center (OAEC) is an 80-acre demonstration, education, and advocacy center, and Fiscal Sponsor located in western Sonoma County, California. OAEC's work focuses on cultivating ecological literacy and building the capacity of civic and social movement leaders and organizations to guide their communities toward an ecologically regenerative, economically viable, and socially just future.
OAEC is in an exciting moment of program expansion as we celebrate our 32nd year of change-making, with expansions in our Resilient Communities Design Program, management of a large state-funded Beaver Coexistence Program through our WATER Institute, and growth in our Fiscally Sponsored Projects Program. This is a tremendous opportunity for a values-driven professional to join OAEC's passionate and dedicated staff.
Job Overview
The Retreat Program Manager is a key leadership position at OAEC, supporting environmental and social movement leaders in feeling welcome and inspired when they come to OAEC for their organizational retreats, trainings, or alliance meetings. The Retreat Program Manager is supervised by the Executive Director and oversees all aspects of the Retreat Program, serving as the primary programmatic contact for the organizations that gather at OAEC throughout the year.
The Retreat Program Manager is responsible for the full retreat lifecycle, including inquiries, contracting, logistics, on-site hosting, financial tracking, and post-retreat follow-up. The Retreat Program Manager also supervises and trains the Retreat Program Assistant and the broader team of Retreat Hosts, ensuring that OAEC's Retreat Program is conducted with professionalism, warmth, and care.
Typical Schedule
While the Retreat Program Manager will receive a consistent salary each week, there are high and low seasons and weeks due to the frequency of retreats, which varies throughout the year. Spring and fall are typically the busiest seasons.
