Coordinator, School of Conservation Futures Partnership

POSITION SUMMARY - This position is based in Tempe, Arizona

Conservation International (CI) is partnering with Arizona State University (ASU) in the United States to reimagine conservation education through the School of Conservation Futures (SCF). Together, we are building a global conservation learning ecosystem that reflects the communities we serve and prepares practitioners and students to address complex, place-based planetary health challenges.

The Coordinator, School for Conservation Futures Partnership will support the day-to-day coordination and implementation of curriculum development and applied learning activities under the direction of the program Director. The Coordinator will work closely with CI teams, field offices, and external partners to support place-based learning opportunities, track participation, coordinate logistics, and contribute to high-quality project deliverables. This role is well suited for an organized, collaborative professional with strong communication and project coordination skills who is interested in conservation education, workforce development, and cross-sector partnerships.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Coordination and Operations

• Track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables; flag risks or delays and support corrective actions.
• Coordinate meetings, workshops, and learning activities, including scheduling, agendas, notes, and follow-up actions.
• Maintain organized project documentation and shared resources.

Conservation Education and Workforce Development Support

• Coordinate with CI field offices, key stakeholders, and ASU partners to support delivery of project activities.
• Support tracking and reporting of participant engagement, including CI staff, students, and practitioners.
• Assist with gathering feedback and lessons learned from learning activities to inform continuous improvement.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL)

• Maintain and update the project's performance tracking system, in coordination with project leadership and MEL colleagues.
• Support regular updates to the project MEL Plan, including documenting changes to indicators, data sources, and learning questions.
• Assist with data collection, organization, and synthesis for MEL activities, including tracking participation, outputs, and outcomes related to conservation education and workforce development.
• Support preparation of MEL inputs for donor reports, presentations, and internal learning products.

Communications and Knowledge Management

• Support implementation of project communications strategies in coordination with CI communications staff and project leadership.
• Maintain and update project-based web platforms and knowledge-sharing spaces, such as the Navigator site, ensuring content is current and accessible.
• Draft and edit content for internal and external communications, including newsletters, blog posts, and social media posts.
• Assist with documenting and sharing stories, insights, and learning from place-based education activities.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Occasional domestic and international travel to partner sites and CI offices.
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support project deadlines.
• Some activities may take place outdoors or in field-based learning environments.
• Guidance on flexible work arrangements will be shared during the interview process.
• This role is a 2-year fixed-term assignment.
  

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, environmental studies, international development) or equal combination of education and experience.
• 2 to 4 years of relevant professional experience in project coordination, program support, education training, workforce development, or related fields.
• Experience supporting donor-funded or grant-funded projects, including tracking deliverables and reporting.
• Strong organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams across cultures and geographies.
• Proficiency with common office and collaboration tools (e.g., spreadsheets, document management, virtual meeting platforms).
• Interest in conservation, education, and inclusive approaches to learning and knowledge generation.

Preferred

• Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Bahasa Indonesian.
• Experience working with academic institutions or multi-stakeholder partnerships.
• Familiarity with MEL frameworks.
