Hours: Four-day work week, 4 x 10 schedule
As a PERT Clinician, you are paired with specially-trained Peace Officers throughout San Diego County. These special teams respond to mental health crises in the community and perform on-site assessments and evaluations to ensure the person in crisis receives the most appropriate care and services. In addition, you will...
  • Conduct emergency initial assessments and consult with PERT Clinical Supervisors in the event of unusual or emergent situations
  • Formulate appropriate resource disposition supporting clients needs and safety requirements
  • Represent PERT while interacting with other agencies, professionals, general public, and during community presentations

The Psychiatric Emergency Response Team (PERT) is a division of Community Research Foundation (CRF) and is in partnership with San Diego County Health and Human Services, San Diego County Law Enforcement, and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI San Diego).
PERT contributes to the well-being of individuals with mental illness by actively and compassionately assisting individuals in crisis who come to the attention of law enforcement to access appropriate services and to optimize outcomes through on-scene assessments and referrals.

Requirements
Licensure: Must be a licensed in California as an RN, LMFT, LCSW, LPCC or Psychologist and must maintain licensure during employment
Credentialing: If you are applying to this position as a Licensed, Registered, Waivered, or Certified professional and are offered the position, you will be required to complete the credentialing process. Additional information will be provided at the post-offer stage.
Qualifications/Skills Requirement
  • Must have a minimum of two years' experience in crisis management or providing resources to persons living with serious mental illness
  • Must have CPR/First Aid certification and must be maintained during employment
  • Must be able to pass background check and civilian-level Sheriff's Department screening
