Community Medical Center, an RWJBarnabas Health hospital, is a 617-bed teaching hospital offering area residents highly sophisticated medical treatment close to home. Community Medical Center, together with Rutgers Cancer Institute, the state's only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, provides patients access to the most advanced cancer treatments including clinical trials, cellular therapies, complex surgical procedures and sophisticated radiation therapy techniques.

Community Medical Center offers a comprehensive array of services, including advanced cancer care, state-of-the-art neurology and neurosurgery services with a neuro-interventional lab and a bi-plane, and cardiac care featuring four cardiac catheterization labs. Surgical services feature two da Vinci Xi robotic surgical platforms, and the Mako robotic arm-assisted system for joint replacement surgery.

Community Medical Center offers technology typically not found at a community hospital, including a 3-Tesla MRI, digital mammography, the Rapid Arc linear accelerator (one of the most sophisticated linear accelerators used for radiation therapy), a CyberKnife for treating inoperable tumors, the Veran Lung Navigation System, and the Pulse Platform by NuVasive to help improve clinical outcomes of complex spine surgeries.

We are one of the area's most trusted providers of maternal services, offering superior obstetric care, a Level II special care nursery with 24/7 onsite neonatologists for newborns requiring special care, a midwifery program and a pediatrician in the emergency department. The emergency department is one of the largest providers of emergency care in New Jersey, with highly skilled physicians, nurses and ancillary staff. Specialized care is also offered through the Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine, and the Comprehensive Breast Center. Our commitment to keeping people healthy is demonstrated by our active community education and outreach programs, including a partnership with the Sadie Vickers Community Resource Center to open a community garden in South Toms River.

RWJBarnabas Health is New Jersey's largest integrated health care delivery system, providing treatment and services to more than three million patients each year. With 12 acute care hospitals, 3 children's hospitals, a growing number of our outpatient facilities and physician practices, our healthcare system is committed to providing the highest quality of patient care and health education to the community and region.

Our dedication to serving the people of New Jersey extends far beyond the care we provide within our hospital walls. We support programs that promote health and wellness in our communities and provide access to services that would otherwise be unavailable. We are committed to the ongoing improvement of the health, quality of life, and vitality of our communities. We strive to bring the best healthcare to meet the evolving needs of residents in New Jersey — whether that be enhancing the coordination for treating complex health conditions or improving community health through local programs and education.

Our partnership with Rutgers University creates the state's largest academic healthcare system dedicated to providing high-quality patient care, leading-edge research, and world-class health and medical education, further advancing our mission of providing high-quality healthcare in New Jersey.

The new collaboration also aligns RWJBarnabas Health with Rutgers' education, research, and clinical activities, including those at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey and Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care.
