Job description

Summary
Direct Sales Representatives support the sales team by providing a high level of customer service to accounts and delivering sales calls.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Pre-plan sales calls and objectives
  • Call on accounts according to established frequency and provide exceptional customer service and follow through while developing rapport with assigned accounts
  • Recommend and execute special promotions as needed and/or directed
  • Submit all required paperwork such as preplans, ad trackers, surveys, expense reports, and mileage reports by their respective due date
  • Attend general sales meetings, supplier meetings and department meetings as directed by Manager

  • General knowledge of industry products
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Effective organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external customers

Work indoors in a sedentary office setting; occasional visit to customer accounts.

  • Lift/Carry & Push/Pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Bend/Stoop/Crouch/Squat

  • Must be able to drive and operate a vehicle

Required Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance required

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1-year previous sales experience
  • Six months previous merchandising experience

Compensation
  • Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.
  • Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Employees are also eligible for 80 hours of vacation every year and 7-8 days of paid holidays throughout the calendar year (depending on location).
  • Hired applicants may be eligible for incentives/bonuses/annual bonuses.
