Job description

Operations Superintendent
Location: Hatfield, PA | Relocation Assistance Available
Shifts: Opportunities may be available across 1st and 2nd shift
This is a continuous opening and may not represent an immediate vacancy.
Clemens Food Group is building a pipeline of experienced manufacturing leaders interested in future Operations Superintendent opportunities at our flagship Hatfield, PA facility.
Our Hatfield operation is a large, complex food manufacturing environment spanning more than 1 million square feet. Operations Superintendents play a critical leadership role within the facility, with responsibility for large production areas that may include approximately 200 team members and 3-5 front-line supervisors.
While our current and anticipated needs may be concentrated within our Bacon operations, this continuous opening is designed to identify strong leaders for opportunities across our Hatfield manufacturing operation as they become available.
By applying, you'll have the opportunity to connect with our Talent Acquisition team and be considered for Operations Superintendent positions that align with your experience, interests, and shift preferences.
What You'll Do
As an Operations Superintendent, you'll provide leadership and direction for a large-scale production operation, leading through front-line supervisors while maintaining strong visibility and connection with team members on the floor.
You'll be accountable for delivering results across Safety, Quality, Service, Cost, and People, balancing the needs of today's operation with the development and improvement required for tomorrow.
In this role, you will:
  • Own operational performance across safety, food safety, quality, service, labor, yield, cost, and productivity.
  • Develop your leadership team by coaching supervisors, strengthening accountability, building succession plans, and creating opportunities for team member growth.
  • Stay connected to the floor, understanding production challenges firsthand and providing leadership when priorities, staffing, equipment, or schedules change.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve throughput, labor utilization, yield, reliability, and overall operating performance.
  • Lead through operational challenges with urgency, sound judgment, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Build an engaged, accountable culture where team members understand expectations, leaders follow through on commitments, and people are treated with respect.
  • Support change and growth, helping introduce new products, processes, equipment, technologies, and ways of working into the operation.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for experienced operations leaders who know how to deliver results through other leaders, not simply manage the production schedule.
Successful candidates will typically bring:
  • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, production, operations, or a similarly complex environment.
  • Experience leading large teams and front-line supervisors, ideally within a high-volume manufacturing operation.
  • Demonstrated accountability for operational KPIs such as safety, quality, service, labor, yield, productivity, and cost.
  • Strong coaching and people-development skills, with the ability to build capable, accountable leadership teams.
  • Experience identifying root causes, solving operational problems, and implementing sustainable improvements.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • The ability to prioritize and make decisions in a fast-paced environment where conditions can change quickly.

Experience in food manufacturing, meat processing, bacon or further processing, USDA-regulated operations, Lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement is strongly preferred, but we are also interested in accomplished leaders from other complex, high-volume manufacturing environments.
Why Join Our Operations Leadership Team?
At Clemens Food Group, our scale creates opportunities for leaders who want more than responsibility for a single production line or small department.
An Operations Superintendent has the opportunity to lead a significant portion of our manufacturing operation, develop the next generation of front-line leaders, work across functions, and make a measurable impact on both our business and our people.
For the right leader, the Superintendent role can also provide meaningful preparation for broader operations leadership opportunities within Clemens Food Group.
What Happens After You Apply?
Because this is a continuous opening, our process may look different from a traditional application to an immediate vacancy.
  1. Talent Acquisition Review - Our recruiting team will review your experience against current and anticipated Operations Superintendent needs.
  2. Initial Conversation - If your background aligns, a recruiter may connect with you to learn more about your leadership experience, career goals, shift flexibility, and areas of interest.
  3. Leadership Discussion - Selected candidates may have an introductory conversation with an Operations leader to further assess alignment.
  4. Talent Pipeline - If there isn't an immediate opening that matches your background, we may maintain your information for consideration as appropriate opportunities become available.
  5. Position-Specific Process - When an aligned opening becomes available, we'll reconnect to discuss the specific operation, shift, responsibilities, and next steps in our selection process.
