City Utilities is seeking an experienced and motivated engineer to support the planning, design, construction, and operation of critical utility infrastructure. Whether you are an established engineer looking to expand your technical expertise or a seasoned professional ready to lead major projects and mentor others, this position offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact while working alongside a collaborative and dedicated team.**What You'll Do**Depending on qualifications and experience, responsibilities may include:* Planning, designing, and supporting natural gas and water distribution infrastructure projects.* Preparing engineering studies, technical analyses, calculations, specifications, and cost estimates.* Supporting construction, operations, maintenance, and system improvement initiatives.* Managing capital improvement projects, including scope, budget, schedule, and contractor coordination.* Developing, reviewing, and approving engineering drawings and project documentation.* Utilizing AutoCAD and other engineering software to support project development and execution.* Collaborating with operations personnel, contractors, consultants, developers, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.* Providing technical guidance, mentoring, and leadership to engineering staff.**What We’re Looking For:*****Engineer III**** Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline (ABET accredited required).* Minimum 4 years of applicable natural gas or water engineering design experience.* Professional Engineer (PE) license required.***Engineer IV**** Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline (ABET accredited required).* Minimum 8 years of natural gas or water engineering design experience.* Professional Engineer (PE) license required.* Demonstrated leadership and project management experience.**Preferred Skills*** Experience with natural gas distribution and transmission system design.* Knowledge of federal and state regulations applicable to the natural gas industry.* Experience managing complex infrastructure or capital improvement projects.* Strong communication, collaboration, and project coordination skills.* Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.* Interest in mentoring, technical leadership, and professional development of others.**Why Join Us?*** Work on projects that directly impact the safety and reliability of essential community services.* Collaborate with experienced utility professionals in a supportive team environment.* Lead meaningful infrastructure improvements and long-term system planning efforts.* Build your career through challenging technical work, project leadership, and professional growth opportunities.**Working Conditions:**Work is primarily performed in an office environment with occasional fieldwork in varying weather conditions.**Additional Information:*** Valid driver’s license required.* Testing may be required.* Candidates must be able to work effectively with diverse groups and adapt to evolving technologies and systems.* Employee must remain alert and aware of their surroundings at all times and maintain the ability to respond to changing circumstances in a timely manner.***For a complete job description, please contact the Recruitment Office at (417) 831-8460.*** #J-18808-Ljbffr
