An A.A./A.S. degree is desirable. Military service and relevant training may also be considered
Experience: Successful completion of probation as a sworn law enforcement officer in the State of California. License or Certificate: Possession of, or eligibility for, the California POST Basic Certificate is required. Out-of-state Peace Officers applying for this position must provide proof of successful completion of the Basic POST Course Waiver process with their application.
Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license and a satisfactory driving record are conditions of initial and continued employment. Other: Police Officer candidates must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age at the time of appointment; must be legally authorized to work in the United States under federal law; must be able to successfully complete a thorough background investigation and successfully meet the job dimension criteria as recommended by POST. Spanish bilingual skills are highly desirable.
Incumbents must successfully complete the Vacaville Police Department Field Training Program as a condition of continued employment.
