Job description

Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Vacuum Operations Supervisor to join our team!

The successful candidate leads and supervises vacuumexcavation crews responsible for hydro excavation on water and gas system repairs, utility potholing, and structure and line cleaning for wastewater collection assets. Oversees work planning, scheduling, and operational compliance with safety and performance standards. Ensures accurate recording, tracking, and reporting of operational data in EAM/CMMS systems for crossdepartmental use.

Responsibilities
  • Plans and schedules daily work assignments for direct reports in alignment with the needs of the Trust.
  • Ensures daily production data is accurately entered and maintained. Prepares reports and updates dashboards as required.
  • Evaluates completed work to confirm compliance with quality and workmanship standards.
  • Communicates with customers requesting work or affected by ongoing work.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from a fouryear college or university; four years of related experience in water, gas, storm or wastewater collection systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Working knowledge of vacuumexcavation equipment, operating principles, and field application.
  • Ability to use computer software and electronic systems for data entry, record keeping, and reporting.  
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, maps, and operating, maintenance, and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees across departments.
  • Ability to perform tasks that may require exerting up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, in accordance with ADA guidelines.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed and participate in oncall rotations, if required.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Indiana driver's license.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications                                          

  • Two years of experience in supervision, management, or leadership.
  • Possession of a valid CDL Class A License with Tanker Endorsement.
  • Proficiency in operating vacuumexcavation equipment.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
