Job description

Chemonics is recruiting for a Principal for the US Market Growth team. The Principal, US Market Growth in the US Business Line serves as a senior leader responsible for advancing organizational growth through market strategy, business development, and the design of competitive, client focused solutions in the US government market and adjacent markets in the US. This role leads the identification and entry into new market opportunities with USG agencies and non-traditional foreign assistance entities, while supporting expansion and scale within existing portfolios and with current clients. The position works across functions to align strategy, innovation, and execution to drive sustainable growth outcomes. This position requires a high degree of professional judgment and discretion.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead growth strategy and business development initiatives to expand market presence and organizational impact in the U.S., with USG agencies and non-traditional foreign assistance clients.
  • Design and advance client driven solutions that align organizational capabilities with market demand and competitive positioning.
  • Conduct and oversee data driven market analysis to identify priorities, assess opportunities, and inform entry strategies.
  • Drive end to end growth execution, from market screening and opportunity development through entry, penetration, and scale.
  • Develop and guide competitive pricing and cost effective approaches to strengthen market positioning and client offerings.
  • Promote innovation in business development through the application of data, analytics, AI, and emerging methodologies.
  • Support existing teams and portfolios in expanding market share through strategic guidance and collaboration.
  • Partner closely with cross functional stakeholders to ensure alignment of growth strategy, resources, and execution.
  • Lead and oversee proposal development teams for priority opportunities, ensuring quality, competitiveness, and timely delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in business, economics, international development, public policy, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 12 years of progressively responsible professional experience, with demonstrated advancement in growth strategy, business development, market analysis, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience with a diversity of USG agencies as a client. Experience with non-traditional foreign assistance agencies and adjacent markets, including private sector clients, strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience developing relationships and maintaining network of contacts with USG clients and partners.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing people and/or leading teams, including responsibility for setting direction, overseeing performance, and developing staff.
  • Proven experience leading complex, multi stakeholder initiatives requiring senior level judgment and cross functional coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently in dynamic, deadline driven environments.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical capabilities, with the ability to translate insight into action.
  • Demonstrated leadership presence and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Experience developing competitive value propositions and pricing strategies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across diverse teams and disciplines.
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of artificial intelligence concepts and tools, with the ability to apply them appropriately and responsibly to support efficiency, decision-making, and problem solving in a dynamic business environment
