Where Service Meets Strategy: Support the Chapter Leaders Who Advance Nursing Communities Across North America
Position Overview
As a Chapter Services Consultant at Sigma Nursing, you will serve as a trusted operational partner to our North American chapters, helping chapter leaders navigate the systems, processes, resources, and support that allow their communities to thrive.
This role exists to ensure chapters are not simply maintaining operations, but are equipped to create meaningful, sustainable, and engaging experiences for their members. You will work directly with volunteer chapter leaders to provide proactive guidance, responsive support, and practical solutions across chapter operations, governance, induction activities, and chapter development initiatives.
You are equal parts consultant, relationship manager, and problem solver.
In this role, you will manage a portfolio of North American chapters and become deeply familiar with their unique goals, challenges, rhythms, and opportunities. Some days that means helping a chapter leader troubleshoot an induction issue or interpret policy guidance. Other days it means identifying patterns across your portfolio, developing resources to address recurring questions, or helping chapters prepare for growth and change.
Success in this role looks like chapters that feel supported before they need to ask for help. It looks like volunteer leaders who know where to turn, understand how to operate effectively, and feel confident navigating Sigma's systems and expectations. It looks like stronger chapter operations, smoother member onboarding experiences, healthier chapter communities, and relationships built on trust and responsiveness.
You will collaborate closely with Membership & Volunteer Engagement colleagues and with partners throughout Sigma to ensure chapters experience coordinated support and access to organizational resources. Through this work, you help strengthen Sigma's chapter network and expand the organization's impact across nursing communities throughout North America.
Location, Travel & Compensation
This is a remote-friendly role, open to U.S.-based professionals nationwide.
Occasional travel is required for business purposes, including meetings, conferences, training, and organizational events. Travel is expected approximately 2 - 4 times per year, though actual frequency may vary based organizational needs.
The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000; offers are made within this range to ensure equity, consistency, and fiscal responsibility.
A Week in the Life
Your week usually begins by reviewing chapter communications and identifying where support may be needed before questions become challenges. You scan trends across your chapter portfolio, review upcoming induction timelines, and prepare outreach to chapters approaching important milestones or operational deadlines.
Throughout the week, communication becomes a major part of your work but not in a transactional way. You are connecting with volunteer chapter leaders to answer questions, coach through decisions, clarify processes, and ensure they have what they need to move forward confidently. You know when to provide direction, when to connect them to another team, and when to escalate concerns.
A meaningful portion of your time is spent helping chapters operate effectively. You may support induction processes, provide guidance on governance practices, share resources and templates, or help leaders navigate administrative and operational requirements. You become known as someone who makes complex processes feel manageable.
You are also constantly looking for patterns. When multiple chapters encounter similar challenges, you identify opportunities to improve communication, strengthen resources, or simplify processes. You track trends across your portfolio and bring insights back to your team to improve how Sigma supports chapters overall.
Relationship building is woven into everything. You are meeting with internal colleagues to coordinate support, partnering across the Membership & Volunteer Engagement department to align efforts, and staying connected to the evolving needs of your chapters.
No two weeks look exactly alike. Some weeks are highly proactive and focused on planning and relationship-building. Others require quick pivots and responsive problem-solving. You enjoy balancing both and know how to remain organized, thoughtful, and calm while supporting multiple priorities simultaneously.
You Would Thrive in This Position If

• You bring at least three years of professional experience in customer service, member services, chapter relations, volunteer management, program coordination, operations, or a related field, along with a bachelor's degree in a relevant area or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• You have experience supporting chapters, affiliates, volunteer leaders, boards, committees, or similar governance structures, and are familiar with chapter operations, governance practices, and member engagement strategies.
• You have experience supporting membership, engagement, onboarding, induction, or volunteer programs, and bring familiarity with administrative and operational coordination at a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• You are a strong written and verbal communicator. You can interpret policies and procedures and explain them clearly to diverse audiences. People trust you because they receive thoughtful answers and dependable follow-through.
• You are highly organized and energized by helping people succeed. You know how to balance proactive planning with responsive service, manage multiple stakeholders simultaneously, and stay calm and focused when priorities compete.
• You are curious and resourceful by nature. You learn systems quickly, and you bring proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and comfort working in CRM platforms, association management systems (AMS), or similar technology environments.
• You are comfortable operating independently while knowing when to collaborate or escalate, and you genuinely believe that strong communities are built through relationships, support, and thoughtful execution. Experience in associations, nonprofits, higher education, or volunteer-driven environments is a meaningful plus.
