Job description

The Supervisor, Carnival Studios supports the scheduling and performance needs of Team Members and the Shoreside Team, hosting orientations, and maintaining daily office hours to assist shipboard team members. Responsibilities include replenishing supplies according to Carnival Cruise Line procurement procedures, maintaining building functions in studios and performer housing, and coordinating custodial scheduling for maintenance and emergencies. The role also encompasses assisting in emergency planning, maintaining facility access and surveillance, and ensuring organized environments for team members.

Additionally, the role requires upholding and promoting Carnival’s core behaviors, encouraging team collaboration, and recognizing individual contributions. The position involves partnering with key stakeholders at Carnival Studios, facilitating inter-departmental communication, and ensuring compliance with immigration, safety, and company policies. The role also includes gathering and analyzing feedback to enhance the team member experience, supporting vendor negotiations, and managing financial oversight to ensure cost-effective operations and alignment with budgetary goals.

Essential Functions:

Program, Operations & Innovation:

  • Operations: Support the scheduling and performance needs of Team Members and the Shoreside Team. Host orientations up to 3 times per week. Communicate with team members on a broad range of topics, including corporate culture and education. Maintain daily Office hours to support shipboard team members. Replenish supplies in accordance with Carnival Cruise Line procurement procedures and practices.
  • Facilities: Maintain building function in both the studios and performer housing. Coordinate and facilitate custodial scheduling for maintenance and emergency response
  • Safety and Security: Assist in emergency planning for natural disasters and executing emergency plans. Maintain access and surveillance of the facility through the access badge system and CCTV.
  • Working Environment: Maintain organized environments for team members to arrive, reside, train, and depart from Carnival Studios. Monitor and assess the use of spaces and supplies to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Inventory: Track and maintain office, housing, and facility supplies, including special event support. Ensure supply replenishment aligns with Carnival Cruise Line procurement procedures and practices.
  • Immigration and Legal Compliance: Verify team member documentation necessary for employment. Organize processes to correct required documents with All Sea Medical or CBP.
Team Leadership and Development:
  • Culture Essentials: Uphold and promote Carnival’s core behaviors, such as speaking up, respecting and protecting, improving, communicating, listening and learning, and empowering. Encourage team members to share their insights, challenges, and suggestions to enhance collaboration and operational success, while proactively resolving conflicts. Organize and execute monthly "Studio Star" which highlights outstanding team members within a month for their outstanding work.
  • Team Environment: Actively engage in team meetings, projects, and brainstorming sessions to foster collaboration and idea sharing. Support a positive team environment by recognizing individual contributions and promoting mutual respect and support among team members.
Collaborate:
  • Internal: Partner with all key stakeholders at Carnival Studios. Facilitate correspondences and meetings between departments to ensure fair use and collaboration in shared spaces.
Safety and Compliance:
  • Safety Practices:Review and refine safety practices, create and enforce training programs, ensuring the highest level of team safety while maintaining operational integrity. Ensure teams are prepared for safe operations. Assist in emergency planning for natural disasters and executing emergency plans. Safety and security must be a priority
  • Compliance Adherence: Ensure full compliance with company policies and procedures, emphasizing safety protocols and operational standards as outlined by Global HESS (Health, Environment, Safety, and Security) and ADA guidelines.
  • Data Privacy and Background Checks: Protect the personal information of shipboard entertainment team members by maintaining robust data security measures.
Program Evaluation:
  • Feedback Analysis: Gather and analyze feedback from surveys and team member feedback. Use this information to suggest implementing enhancements that elevate the team member experience.
Financial Accountability:
  • Sourcing and Supply Chain: Support the research, sourcing, and negotiation with vendors to ensure cost-effective. Help identify and manage vendors for new and existing entertainment activities, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of services and materials. Contribute to maintaining a reliable supply chain for program success.
  • Financial Oversight: Track and manage expenses including auditing the coding, categorization, and amounts of purchases to ensure alignment with entertainment account strings and maintaining communication with the Accounts Payable department.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Scope: Responsible for the day-to-day operational support of Carnival Studios, including team member onboarding and support, facility operations, inventory management, safety and security processes, and administrative activities. Collaborates with shipboard and shoreside partners to ensure an efficient, compliant, and positive team member experience. Supports Carnival Cruise Line operations within Carnival Studios and performer housing environments..
  • Problem solving Identifies and resolves operational, facility, scheduling, inventory, and team member support issues within Carnival Studios. Evaluates situations, determines appropriate courses of action, and collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders including Entertainment Operations, Facilities, Human Resources, Safety, Security, Procurement, and Compliance to ensure uninterrupted operations, policy compliance, and a positive team member experience. Exercises judgment in prioritizing competing demands, responding to emergencies, and addressing day-to-day operational challenges
  • Impact: Directly contributes to the efficient operation of Carnival Studios by ensuring facilities, team member support services, safety and security processes, onboarding activities, inventory management, and operational logistics are executed effectively. The role influences the overall team member experience, operational readiness, regulatory compliance, and the successful delivery of studio-based training, rehearsals, and entertainment support activities. Essential/Minimum qualifications:
  • Preferred Education: Associates Degree Music, Dance, Theater, Performing Arts. 3+ years of experience in musical theater, dance, cruise entertainment or comparable industry experience. Due to operational needs, this position may require occasional work outside of regular business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Essential experience required
  • Experience supporting entertainment operations, hospitality operations, cruise operations, performing arts administration, or a related environment required.
  • Cruise industry experience required.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license and have the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle as an essential function of the position.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced operational environment.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Experience coordinating facility operations, logistics, scheduling, or team member support activities preferred
