About the Position
We are seeking a highly organized and analytical Route Planner & Dispatch Coordinator to manage daily routing for a fleet of more than 28 lawn care and pest-control vehicles.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving logistical problems, working with operational data, and making time-sensitive decisions.

What You'll Do

  • Assign work based on technician availability, training, capabilities, geographic location, customer priorities, and production goals.
  • Communicate regularly with four Technician Supervisors regarding staffing, route size, technician capabilities, training requirements, and operational challenges.
  • Coordinate with the Office Manager to schedule priority visits, new customers, quote requests, quality inspections, and customer complaint visits.
  • Act as the main communication link between the Office and Production teams.
  • Monitor routes throughout the day and make real-time adjustments for cancellations, rescheduled jobs, urgent visits, staffing changes, weather, and technician requests.
  • Add work to routes when jobs are cancelled or rescheduled to maintain technician productivity.
  • Monitor daily and weekly KPIs and identify when production is falling behind target.
  • Review real-time product calibration results and communicate relevant updates to Technician Supervisors.
  • Review route completion at the end of each day and reschedule missed priorities for the next available service day.
  • Follow up with supervisors regarding skipped, incomplete, or delayed jobs.
  • Provide objective feedback regarding technician efficiency, calibration, productivity, and recurring route challenges.
  • Identify routing trends, capacity concerns, scheduling conflicts, and operational bottlenecks.
  • Continuously improve route density, geographic efficiency, workload balance, and customer service.

  • Excellent judgment and the ability to make decisions under time pressure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with multiple departments and supervisors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to interpret KPI reports and use data to guide operational decisions.
  • Strong geographic awareness and an understanding of efficient route planning.
  • Confidence using spreadsheets, dashboards, routing software, and workplace communication platforms.
  • Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback professionally.

  • The position carries six-day-per-week operational responsibility during the production season.
  • Monday - Friday 7:30am - 5pm with a 1.5 hour unpaid break.
  • Sunday work primarily consists of reviewing and adjusting Monday's routes based on weather, staffing, customer priorities, and newly available information.
  • Sunday responsibilities are expected to require fewer than four hours.
  • Some availability outside regular working hours may occasionally be required when urgent routing or operational changes arise.

How Success Will Be Measured
