Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Professional Counselor at Calhoun Families First Center, your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining a caseload of clients, where you will establish rapport and foster positive working relationships grounded in professionalism and ethical practice.
  • Conducting regular client sessions to review treatment progress, assess stability, and plan for discharge when appropriate, ensuring adequate continuity of care.
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring personalized, client-centered treatment plans to address individual needs and promote mental wellness.
  • Documenting client progress and maintaining thorough and up-to-date records in compliance with clinic policies and relevant regulations.
  • Performing comprehensive intake assessments to determine client needs and guide subsequent treatment approaches.
  • Engaging in weekly individual therapy sessions and participating in clinical supervision to foster professional growth and skill development.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, sharing expertise and insights to enhance comprehensive care.
  • Upholding a growth mindset in your practice, continuously seeking to improve skills and service delivery.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This position primarily focuses on a youth population, helping adolescents and their families navigate mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use issues. Your role will be critical in providing empathetic support and evidence-based interventions to facilitate healing and growth.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • A Master’s Degree in mental health counseling or a closely related field.
  • A current and active licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
  • The ability to fulfill the requirements for internal credentialing within relevant clinical settings.
  • Excellent documentation skills, with proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • A commitment to ethical practice and client confidentiality.
Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, candidates with the following experience will have a competitive advantage:

  • A minimum of one year of hands-on experience working with psychiatric patients and/or populations facing substance abuse challenges.
  • Proven experience in assessment, diagnosis, individual and group therapy modalities.
  • Familiarity with therapeutic tools and methodologies commonly used in youth counseling.
Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from $65,000 to $80,000, commensurate with experience. In addition to competitive compensation, we offer:
