About the opportunity
West Central Behavioral Health (WCBH) is a CCBHC-designated nonprofit community mental health center serving the Upper Valley and surrounding region of New Hampshire. Our mission is to provide accessible, high-quality behavioral health care to individuals and families - and the finance team is a critical partner in making that possible.
We're looking for a Director of Finance to lead all aspects of accounting and financial operations. This is a hands-on leadership role for a technically strong, people-oriented finance professional who wants their work to mean something beyond the balance sheet. You'll report directly to the CFAO, lead a dedicated finance team, and serve as a key steward of the agency's financial integrity.
What you'll own
Monthly close & reporting- lead the full close cycle with internal statements published by the tenth business day; present revenue and expense analysis to agency leadership.
Audit & compliance- manage the annual external audit, Form 990 preparation, and all grant and regulatory financial reporting (NH DHHS, NHFA, NEAH, and others).
Internal controls- maintain and strengthen the agency's internal control framework; identify risks and surface solutions proactively.
Team leadership- supervise, develop, and evaluate Finance Department staff; ensure cross-training for operational continuity; oversee payroll processing.
Budget & planning - lead development of expense schedules and financial inputs for the annual operating budget in partnership with the CFAO.
