Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations to assess the severity and duration of mood disorder symptoms, utilizing standardized tools and interviews.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans aligning with each client's unique needs, aspirations, and therapeutic preferences.
• Employ evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to facilitate effective treatment outcomes.
• Educate clients and their families on mood disorders, treatment options, and self-care strategies to foster understanding and engagement in their therapeutic journey.
• Continuously monitor client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to enhance therapeutic effectiveness.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary specialists to provide holistic care, ensuring integrated treatment approaches.
• Stay informed on the latest developments in mood disorder research to refine therapeutic approaches and contribute to best practices.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure thorough documentation that adheres to all legal and ethical standards.
• Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and professional development workshops to enhance skills and expand your counseling toolkit.
• Advocate for mental health awareness, working toward reducing stigma and improving community resources for those affected by mental health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The clients you will serve include individuals grappling with mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to support vulnerable populations, including the homeless, refugees, and survivors of domestic abuse. Your work will directly influence their journey towards stability, resilience, and recovery.

Qualifications

• A current and valid California license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated ability to foster therapeutic rapport with clients through exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to approach client experiences with empathy and a nonjudgmental attitude, ensuring a safe therapeutic environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management capabilities to effectively balance client caseloads and administrative responsibilities.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working with diverse populations, particularly those facing socioeconomic challenges.
• Familiarity with telehealth technologies and virtual therapeutic practices.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 70,000 to 90,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
