2nd Adventure Services is looking for a Senior Accountant who wants more than routine journal entries and reconciliations. This role sits within our Controllership team and supports a portfolio of purpose-driven brands in the firearms and outdoor industry, including Brownells and Crow Wholesale.

As our Senior Accountant, you will help ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of financial reporting across both eCommerce and distribution operations. You will be closely involved in month-end close, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, financial statement support, fixed assets, audit preparation, and process improvement. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys owning recurring accounting work while also looking for ways to make processes cleaner, faster, and more reliable.

This position is primarily onsite in Grinnell, Iowa, with an expectation of four days onsite each week.

You will be trusted to prepare journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations; support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close; maintain fixed asset schedules; assist with financial reporting and operating metrics; participate in audit activities; and partner with teams across the business to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in alignment with GAAP.

The right candidate will bring a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, along with at least 3 years of accounting experience. Five or more years of experience is preferred. Strong GAAP knowledge, Excel proficiency, ERP experience, attention to detail, and the ability to manage recurring deadlines will be important for success. Experience with Infor, inventory accounting, cost accounting, sales tax, public accounting, manufacturing, retail, distribution, or eCommerce is helpful, but not required.
