Job description

DESCRIPTION:
Performs maintenance, repairs and rebuilding of Caterpillar and allied equipment under limited supervision in the Rental Department.
Compensation: up to $32.65 per hour.
LOCATION:
Boyd CAT is proud to announce the development of a new branch location supporting a data center project in Mason County, WV. This position will initially report from our Nitro and/or Belle, WV location(s) for training, with plans to transition to the new Point Pleasant branch full-time after the completion of the new location build-out.
REQUIREMENTS:
  1. High School diploma or equivalent
  2. Previous mechanical experience preferred
  3. Must be able to read and comprehend repair manuals
  4. Must have shop required hand tools
  5. Ability to use micrometer and other testing tools
  6. Good interpersonal skills, and written and verbal communication skills

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Performs work assignments on all types of Caterpillar and allied equipment
  2. Lifts parts and equipment components that weigh a minimum of 70 pounds
  3. Operates and moves equipment being repaired in and out of shop service bays
  4. Writes accurate and legible Service Reports, reads and comprehends blueprints, technical data and service manuals
  5. May be required to possess a Commercial Driver's License based on department operational needs
  6. Performs assigned shop repairs on CAT and allied equipment in a timely and efficient manner
  7. Uses proper test equipment to troubleshoot for needed repairs
  8. Projects a positive company image with fellow employees, customers, and management; complies with company dress code
  9. Keeps work area clean and orderly; follows all work safety rules and procedures
  10. Ensures accuracy of work orders by charging parts and labor to proper work order segments
  11. Owns and maintains sufficient hand tools to perform the job
  12. May be required to work overtime if needed
  13. Performs other duties as necessary and assigned
