POSITION OVERVIEW
The Youth Technology Program Manager leads the planning, implementation, and evaluation of high-quality, developmentally appropriate technology programming for youth ages 6-18. The position oversees program delivery, staff and volunteers, partnerships, the department budget and equipment, and member-facing technology support in collaboration with the IT department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Curriculum and Program Development, Delivery, and Safety
- Manage the design, delivery, and evaluation of project-based technology programming for youth with a range of interests and skill levels.
- Provide members with opportunities to build technical and creative skills, express themselves through technology, and explore technology education, careers, and resources beyond the clubhouse.
- Supervise, redirect, and manage the behavior of members participating in programs and services within the technology programs area and throughout the clubhouse as appropriate.
- Know safety and emergency procedures and enforce applicable rules and protocols to support the physical and digital safety of members and programs.
- Develop and participate in collaborative programs, events, and projects with staff from other clubhouse departments and BGCB locations.
- Participate in program evaluation efforts throughout each program year, including the annual member survey and other assigned program-quality and member-outcome measures.
Outreach, Member Engagement, Collaboration, and Partnerships
- Manage external partnerships, collaborative programs, pilot initiatives, community-based technology efforts; complete required reporting, and recommend new partnership opportunities to appropriate organizational leadership.
- Recruit, coordinate, and retain volunteers, mentors, consultants, and community partners who can provide relevant instruction, guidance, and enrichment opportunities for members.
- Develop and participate in collaborative programs, events, and projects with staff from other clubhouse departments and BGCB locations.
Technical Knowledge, Technology Support, and Program Integration
- Serve as an on-site technology resource and support the integration of technology into clubhouse programs, activities, and special events.
- Partner with the IT department to support member technology, routine troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, technology rollouts, inventory management, and the escalation of network or infrastructure concerns.
- Recruit and engage members in a youth technology leadership team that develops technical, problem-solving, digital citizenship, and peer-leadership skills.
Staff Supervision, Training, Operations, and Administration
- Orient, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff, junior staff, work-study students, and volunteers to ensure effective program delivery, behavior management, and member safety.
- Attend and actively participate in organization-wide technology, program, staff, and partnership meetings as assigned. Participate in individual and group supervision sessions and professional development opportunities as approved, provided, or directed.
- Manage the program budget, equipment, software, supplies, inventory, and required administrative records, and maintain a safe, clean, and organized program area.
- Provide technology-related training and guidance to clubhouse staff and other stakeholders as appropriate.
- Coordinate proposed hardware and software purchases with IT and obtain required approvals.
- Perform other related duties as specified by the Director of Operations, Executive Director, Director of IT, or other designated organizational leader.
- Evaluation - Assessing our impact is critical to our work. All staff is expected to participate in various evaluation efforts throughout each program year, including the annual member survey.
- Healthy Behavior Modeling - Teaching youth/teens the importance of living an active, healthy lifestyle is a BGCB priority. As a result, all staff is expected to model healthy behavior while collaborating with our members.
- Inclusive Environment - BGCB values creating child-friendly environments, where youth/teens of all abilities can be successful and participate. BGCB expects employees to embrace its focus on inclusion of all members, regardless of disability or developmental challenge.
- Continuous Learning - Building the capacity of staff is central to BGCB. The organization encourages and requires that all staff participates in annual professional development opportunities that continue to cultivate their skills in the youth development field.
- Safe Spaces - Every staff member shares the responsibility for ensuring BGCB is, and remains, an environment free of sexual, physical, or emotional abuse.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in technology, education, youth development, digital media, computer science, or a related field. 3-5 years of developing and implementing technology, digital media, STEM, or related youth programs. Experience teaching, facilitating, or training youth. Knowledge of project-based learning and experience with digital media, coding, robotics, graphic design, video production, or other multimedia technology.Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required.
- Knowledge of youth development principles, behavior-management practices, and digital safety.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, web-based systems, and educational and creative technology platforms. Working knowledge of computer hardware, software, troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with youth, families, staff, volunteers, and community partners from a variety of backgrounds.
- Flexibility to work clubhouse hours, including evenings and occasional weekends, as program needs change.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred
- Master's degree.
- Experience managing collaborative programs, community partnerships, or grants.
- Additional technical knowledge in networking, device management, or audiovisual systems.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills.
Travel between BGCB sites and to activities, meetings, trainings, and events as needed.

Salary - $31.13/hour - $36.52/hour - commensurate with experience; along with competitive benefits and a great work environment
