Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and working closely with the Board of Directors, the COO will play a critical role in translating organizational strategy into operational excellence and sustainable results.
The COO will oversee the day-to-day operations of Ginger Cove while ensuring that services, programs, resources, and organizational infrastructure are aligned with the community’s mission, values, strategic priorities, and long-term goals.

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative and highly visible leader who brings strong business acumen, sound judgment, operational discipline, and a genuine commitment to serving older adults. The COO will foster a culture in which leaders and employees are empowered to take ownership, collaborate across departments, continuously improve, and deliver an exceptional experience to Ginger Cove residents and their families.
Key Responsibilities:

- Evaluate organizational structure, processes, and resources to ensure Ginger Cove is positioned for long-term success, efficiency, and financial sustainability.
- Identify emerging opportunities, operational challenges, and potential risks and develop strategies to address them proactively.
- Stay informed of developments within the senior living, healthcare, regulatory, workforce, and broader operating environment that may affect Ginger Cove’s strategy or operations.
Operational Excellence & Performance
- Establish and monitor key operational, financial, quality, workforce, and resident experience metrics.
- Analyze performance trends and develop action plans to address gaps, mitigate risks, and capitalize on opportunities.
- Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence.
- Ensure departments operate in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards.
- Collaborate with leadership to ensure appropriate documentation, safety practices, resident rights, and quality standards are consistently maintained.
- Lead organizational efforts to improve efficiency, service delivery, resident satisfaction, and overall operational effectiveness.
Financial Stewardship

- Monitor financial and operational performance and ensure resources are utilized effectively and responsibly.
- Evaluate operational investments, contracts, vendor relationships, and service agreements with consideration for quality, value, risk, and long-term sustainability.
- Develop strategies that balance exceptional resident services with responsible financial stewardship.
Executive & Leadership Development
- Lead, coach, and mentor department directors and other members of the leadership team.
- Build a high-performing leadership culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, business fluency, transparency, and continuous development.
- Establish clear expectations and performance standards for leaders and support effective follow-through.
- Identify leadership development and succession planning opportunities for key organizational roles.
- Foster strong cross-functional collaboration and communication throughout the organization.
- Promote employee engagement, retention, professional development, and a positive workplace culture.
Resident & Family Experience
- Champion an organization-wide commitment to exceptional resident service and quality of life.
- Maintain a visible and approachable presence within the Ginger Cove community.
- Serve as an executive resource for residents and families, ensuring concerns are addressed thoughtfully, respectfully, and in a timely manner.
- Partner with leadership and staff to identify opportunities to enhance resident satisfaction, engagement, and overall experience.
- Ensure organizational decisions remain grounded in the needs, expectations, dignity, independence, and well-being of Ginger Cove residents.
Risk Management, Compliance & Quality
- Provide executive leadership for Ginger Cove’s organizational risk management program.
- Promote a proactive approach to identifying, evaluating, and mitigating operational, financial, regulatory, and organizational risks.
- Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws, regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
- Support Ginger Cove’s Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program and ensure leadership accountability for quality outcomes.
- Promote a culture of safety, compliance, ethical decision-making, and continuous performance improvement.
- Ensure appropriate emergency preparedness and organizational response protocols are maintained.

- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with organizations and community partners that advance Ginger Cove’s mission and goals.
- Participate in organizational events, community initiatives, and professional activities as appropriate.
