Key Responsibilities

As a Virtual Mental Health Counselor, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough diagnostic assessments to understand clients' mental health needs and challenges.
  • Creating personalized treatment plans that are grounded in evidence-based practices and tailored to each individual's unique circumstances.
  • Providing ongoing therapy and support through individual, group, and family counseling, utilizing various therapeutic modalities to meet diverse needs.
  • Regularly monitoring client progress and adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Maintaining meticulous records in compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards, ensuring client confidentiality is preserved.
  • Utilizing an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system for efficient documentation, scheduling, and communication with clients.
  • Collaborating with community resources and referring clients to necessary services or specialized care when appropriate.
  • Engaging in continuous professional development to maintain licensure and remain updated on best practices in mental health treatment.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working with a varied caseload that includes children, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing a range of mental health issues, communication challenges, and family discord. Your approach will require not only clinical expertise but also cultural sensitivity and an understanding of the unique factors affecting each client’s mental health journey. You will play a vital role in empowering clients to navigate their challenges effectively through supportive counseling.

Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Possession of a valid and active license as an LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC issued by the State of California.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in providing diagnostic assessments and therapy across diverse age groups and backgrounds.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish effective therapeutic relationships with clients and their families.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication, essential for documentation, client interactions, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with specific populations, such as children, adolescents, or individuals with complex mental health conditions.
  • Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities and interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), family systems therapy, and trauma-informed care.
  • Knowledge of community resources and a network of support services for mental health clients.
