Job description

Position Summary
For the assigned categories, responsible for the design and drawing of new store floor plans, store remodels and changes to layouts due to merchandising initiatives. Partners with supervisor, Buyers, Merchandise Presentation, and Marketing to develop visual standards, guidelines, and policies that serve as a key input to the development of floor plans. Leverages space planning and analytics tools to ensure that product placement on floor plans maximizes sales, margin, and inventory performance for the assigned categories. As requested, serves as a subject matter expert on Corporate and special initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Accountable for optimizing floor plans aligning with Buying team intent.
• Responsible for reducing the time to design and draw floor plans and reducing errors.
• Provides input into the guidelines and communications used to guide the execution of merchandise presentation in stores.
• Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the data in the floor plan database.
• Ensures that key deliverables associated with the creation, edit, review, and approval of floor plans are met in a timely and accurate manner.
• Collaborates with team members to ensure consistency of execution, sharing best practices, and developing knowledge of space planning tools and practices. Serves as a coach and mentor to the team to identify best practices and recommend process improvements to their supervisor.
• Serves as a subject matter expert on Space Planning and floor plan management systems and processes.
• Participates in special projects, key enterprise initiatives, and system upgrades as requested by leadership. Serves as the Space Planning expert on Corporate and Special Initiatives.
• Continues to advance knowledge and use of the tools and reports through ongoing training and coaching opportunities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum 5 years of transferable retail experience within Space Management, Merchandising, Assortment, and/or Merchandise Planning.
• Strong computer skills in MS Office applications, Space Planning or Planogram tools.
• Prior experience with Assortment and Space Planning Tools preferred.
• Able to collaborate and work cross-functionally across all levels of the business, as well as capable of working independently with minimal direction and supervision preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills preferred.
• Strong time management, organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills required.
