Position Overview

We are seeking a Manager, for our Accounting & Advisory Services team.

As a Manager within our Accounting & Advisory Services team specializing in Real Estate, you will lead the delivery of accounting, financial reporting, and advisory services for a diverse portfolio of real estate clients. This role combines technical accounting expertise, client relationship management, team leadership, and process improvement initiatives to support owners, operators, developers, and investors across retail, residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties.

The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong real estate accounting experience, a client-service mindset, and the ability to oversee multiple engagements while mentoring staff and driving operational excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee accounting and advisory engagements for real estate clients, including retail, residential, commercial, and mixed-use property portfolios.

  • Review and supervise all aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including financial statements, journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity.

  • Lead the preparation and review of financial reporting packages, including cash flow analysis, NOI reporting, KPI reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

  • Oversee A/P and A/R processes across multiple entities, properties, and tenants, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Review and manage recoverable billing processes, including RET/CAM reconciliations and tenant charge analysis.

  • Supervise fixed asset accounting, capitalization, depreciation schedules, and capital account roll-forwards.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, including sales tax filings, debt reporting, RPIE, TC201, and other real estate-related reporting obligations.

  • Coordinate and support external audits, tax filings, lender reporting, and investor reporting requirements.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing strategic financial insights, recommendations, and responsive client service.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and technology enhancements to improve efficiency and reporting capabilities.

  • Utilize Yardi Voyager and other financial systems to optimize reporting, data integrity, and operational workflows.

  • Manage engagement timelines, staffing, and deliverables to ensure high-quality service and adherence to deadlines.

  • Mentor, train, and develop Senior Associates and staff, providing technical guidance and performance coaching.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and firm leadership to support business development initiatives and client growth opportunities.

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned to support the team and firm objectives.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred.

  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive real estate accounting experience, preferably within public accounting, advisory services, or a multi-entity real estate environment.

  • Prior experience supervising or managing staff and client engagements required.

  • Strong proficiency in Yardi Voyager required.

  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP, real estate accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Experience with commercial, residential, retail, and/or mixed-use property accounting preferred.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong client relationships.

  • Proven leadership abilities with a focus on mentorship, collaboration, and team development.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems.
