Job description

Position:                   Student Employee - Science Peer Tutor               

Department:            AcademicSupport Center

Classification:          Part-time, non-benefiteligible

Rate:                        State minimum wage

Location:                  LisleCampus

Responsibilities: 

Seeking students that have taken and excelled in science courses to provide tutoring for one or more of the following: General Biology, Genetics, Microbiology, Human Physiology, Human Anatomy, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Physics.

Provide support by answering student questions from science courseslisted above.

Required Qualifications:

* Must have completed the course for which you will be tutoring at Benedictine University with grade of B or above.
* Must submit a resume.
* Must submit a letter of recommendation from a Benedictine professor who taught you the course. Instruct the professor to email recommendation to clarsen@ben.edu.
* Must be a currently enrolled Benedictine student in good standing.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employeeis regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required tostand; walk; use hands to touch, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office productsand supplies, up to 20 pounds.
Use of computer screen, phone and customer service.
May require bending or sitting for long periods of time. Specific visionabilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, colorvision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
The following of campus specific guidelines for pandemic protocols isrequired.
Training: As a University employee you are required to complete allUniversity-specific and/or OSHA related training to fulfill your job duties.Specific training will be conducted online or in person. Employees mustcomplete all trainings required by Benedictine University.
