Job description

Rehab Occupational Therapist

Rehab Occupational Therapy treats patients with cardiopulmonary, neurological, orthopedic, medicine, trauma, surgical, and oncology conditions. The employee will work Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with a flexible start time up to 8:00 AM. One weekend shift (Saturday and Sunday) will be required during a four-week period, resulting in a day off during that week. Acute care experience is required. First-time travelers are accepted for this position. The clinician may be utilized in any therapy service line within the facility. There will be no on-call requirements. The role involves establishing treatment plans considering discharge needs and expected discharge functional status. Educating and collaborating with patients, families, and healthcare providers is essential, along with making referrals to specialists when necessary. The occupational therapist will delegate tasks to assistants and technicians while ensuring competency in interventions required for patient care. Documentation must be completed according to departmental policies. Special equipment used includes SPH equipment, vital carts, iPad interpreters, and ADL supplies. Patients primarily include adults and geriatrics. The position supports an interdisciplinary team for comprehensive patient care.
