About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Solder / PCB Rework Technician to join our engineering and production teams. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting advanced hardware development, prototype builds, and high-reliability electronics assembly. You will work directly with hardware engineers and assembly documentation to execute precision hand-soldering, component-level rework, and modifications on cutting-edge electronic hardware.
Key Responsibilities
  • Precision Assembly: Perform fine-pitch hand soldering of through-hole and surface-mount technology (SMT) electronic components.
  • PCB Rework & Modification: Execute complex PCB rework, component replacement, wire modifications, and blue-wire changes in strict accordance with engineering direction and work instructions.
  • Quality & Inspection: Inspect solder joints, component placement, and overall workmanship under magnification/microscopes to ensure full compliance with internal and industry quality standards.
  • Hardware Support: Support board-level assembly, touch-up, repair, and prototype modification activities across engineering and production phases.
  • Defect Escalation: Identify defects, hardware damage, or nonconformances, and collaborate with engineering teams to escalate and resolve issues promptly.
  • ESD & Shop Standards: Maintain a clean, organized work area and strictly follow Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) handling procedures for sensitive hardware.
  • Schedule & Communication: Support team production schedules by delivering high-quality work on time and proactively communicating any technical blockers.
Basic Qualifications
  • US Export Control Compliance: Must be eligible to access export-controlled information and technology subject to U.S. export control regulations, including ITAR and EAR.
  • Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in electronics assembly, hand soldering, and PCB rework.
  • Technical Mastery: Demonstrated proficiency in fine-pitch hand soldering and component-level rework.
  • Documentation Skills: Proven ability to accurately read and interpret assembly drawings, work instructions, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and engineering documentation.
  • Workmanship: Exceptional attention to detail and a high standard of craftsmanship in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Autonomy: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting strict production deadlines.
