Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments, gaining a deep understanding of each patient's trauma history to develop tailored treatment plans.
  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans that prioritize trauma recovery, utilizing evidence-based therapies aligned with patients' specific needs.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions utilizing established methodologies such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and mental health professionals to create an integrated approach to patient care, ensuring holistic support.
  • Provide crisis intervention services during trauma-related emergencies, offering immediate assistance and support to patients in distress.
  • Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, valid coping techniques, and the resources available to them.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential records according to legal and ethical standards, ensuring the integrity of patient information.
  • Engage in case consultations and participate actively in team meetings focused on the latest developments in trauma-informed care.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development by keeping abreast of new research and best practices in the field of trauma therapy.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Mental Health Therapist, you will work primarily with trauma survivors, including individuals suffering from PTSD, complex trauma, and other trauma-related conditions. Your role will be crucial in helping them build coping skills and resilience, which are vital in their paths to recovery. By providing individualized care and utilizing evidence-based practices, you will empower your patients to understand and process their trauma, fostering healing and personal growth.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of trauma-related disorders, coupled with familiarity with trauma-informed treatment modalities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong ability to create a compassionate and non-judgmental environment for clients.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant technological platforms to maintain patient documentation and collaborate with team members.
  • Ability to manage high-stress situations with composure and professionalism.
Preferred Experience

We prefer candidates who have at least 2 years of post-licensure experience, particularly those who have delivered trauma-focused therapies and demonstrated success in facilitating patient recovery. Your background in providing overall mental health services to diverse populations will be an asset in our collaborative environment.

Compensation and Benefits
