The Atlas Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Advanced Pain Management Physician Assistant (PA) for a full-time position in our San Francisco clinic. Key Responsibilities
  • Comprehensive Patient Assessment: Perform detailed evaluations of patients suffering from chronic pain, which includes reviewing medical histories, conducting thorough physical examinations, and assessing pain levels using standardized scales.
  • Treatment Planning: Collaborate effectively with physicians and specialists to create individualized pain management strategies. These plans may incorporate medication management, physical therapy recommendations, interventional procedures, and alternative therapies tailored to address unique patient needs.
  • Patient Education: Educate and empower patients by providing clear information about their conditions, available treatment options, and self-management techniques. Ensure that patients are active participants in their care pathways.
  • Procedural Assistance: Assist in performing various pain management procedures, such as epidural injections, nerve blocks, and joint injections, ensuring that each patient feels comfortable and safe throughout the procedure.
  • Ongoing Care: Monitor patient progress post-treatment, engage in follow-up care, and make necessary adjustments to their treatment plans based on observed outcomes and patient feedback.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your focus will primarily be on adult patients suffering from chronic pain conditions, which may range from musculoskeletal disorders to neuropathic pain syndromes. You will work closely with patients to address not just their physical symptoms, but also the psychological impacts of chronic pain, fostering a holistic approach to their care.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Current certification and licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of California.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality patient care, with a genuine desire to improve health outcomes.
Preferred Experience
  • Certification or specialized training in Pain Management or related medical fields is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Physician Assistant in a pain management setting or similar healthcare environment is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of pain management strategies, including the latest clinical practices and technologies.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is competitive, ranging from USD 90,000 to 160,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
