Job Summary:

Altus Group is looking for an Associate Director to join ourTorontooffice's Development Advisory Team. Reporting to the Senior Director, you will work with the management team on various asset types and accounts. Your role involves providing guidance to a team of consultants to deliver cost consulting services efficiently. This includes client delivery, revenue management, business development, offering technicalexpertise, and leading the consultant team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providea full range of cost consulting services to new and existing clients. This involves a full technical understanding of construction estimation, cost planning and change order review:

• Read, understand, and interpret construction drawings and specifications at an advanced level

• Review and provide guidance on measurement for junior members of the team

• Completion of project descriptions & assumptions

• Practical understanding of constructionmethodologyand technology

• Extensive trade/product knowledge

• Ability to prepare and complete both divisional (trade)/ CIQS elemental take-offs based on all levels of design documents from Class D to Class A

• Fundamental understanding of Mechanical & Electrical systems

• Advanced understanding of factors influencing construction costs and applying that knowledge in the production of estimates or change order review.

• Completion of estimates and reports

• Preparation/analysis of detailed general condition breakdowns, including an understanding of thelogisticsand high-level schedule duration calculations

• Change order analysis - full cycle from interpretation, take-off,pricingand negotiation with trades

• Reconciliation of estimate with tenders, owner'sbudgetsand/or contractor's estimates

• Ability to prepare, co-ordinate & deliver estimates (on schedule & within fees)

• Ability to maximize the use ofappropriate softwareand technology and teach others how to do thesamesuch asCostX, Revit, CAD, and Microsoft Office.

• Develop and buildlong-termclient relationships which result in repeat business, referrals and serviceexpansionincluding up-sells & cross-sells across other Business Units within Altus.

• Lead the assessment of client requirements, conduct projectreviewsand deal with issues efficiently and effectively.

• Preparation of proposals including fee calculations for approval (whererequired)

• Work with Management to support the implementation of strategies which contribute to revenue generation,profitabilityand growth of the Business Unit - locally and nationally.

• Lead the implementation of approved business plans and act as Champion for these initiatives within the team.

• Provide leadership, guidance, coaching, mentoring and support to direct reports and members of the Ontario Cost Planning team.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Science or in a related field

• 7-10 years of leadership experience in a commercial real estate or related field, with a multi-dimensional understanding of the real estate consulting and advisory industry.

• Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS) or Member RICS (MRICS) isrequired,LEED accreditation is an asset

• Self-motivated with a high degree of integrity,honestyandworkethics

• Proven strategic thinking, analytical skills, and strong business acumen, with a focus on business development.

• Client serviceoriented.

• Full and deep understanding of Cost Planning services

• Proactive exploration of opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of business processes
