Key Responsibilities

In your role as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will undertake a variety of responsibilities that are critical to the therapeutic process:

• Conduct comprehensive initial assessments to understand clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health needs.
• Develop individualized treatment plans, utilizing evidence-based practices that promote positive mental health outcomes.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions with a focus on building trust and rapport with clients.
• Regularly monitor and document client progress and maintain accurate records throughout the therapeutic relationship.
• Collaborate with other mental health professionals, physicians, and social workers to coordinate care and enhance client support.
• Provide follow-up consultations with psychiatrists and attend to hospitalization needs when applicable.
• Identify and manage potential barriers to recovery, ensuring clients are supported in their journeys towards mental wellness.
• Educate family members and caregivers on mental health challenges and coping strategies to foster a supportive environment for clients.

The client population at Allied Behavioral Health Center is diverse, comprising individuals dealing with a range of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, and substance use disorders. Your expertise will help guide these clients through their struggles, offering them the tools and support needed to lead fulfilling lives.

Qualifications

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Florida.
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE).
• A strong foundation of clinical experience as a mental health counselor, demonstrating competence in a range of therapeutic modalities.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly AVATAR or similar platforms.

Preferred Experience

• Hands-on expertise in treating clients with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders.
• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and methodologies.
• Solid understanding of psychopharmacology and the implications of prescribed medications.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, allowing for effective documentation and client engagement.
• Demonstrated ability to build strong therapeutic relationships with clients, showcasing empathy and understanding.

Compensation and Benefits
