Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly clients, identifying specific emotional and psychological care needs.
• Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions aimed at addressing the emotional struggles associated with aging and significant life changes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to devise comprehensive and individualized care plans that promote the mental health and well-being of geriatric clients.
• Provide education and training to families and staff members, focusing on techniques to improve the emotional and mental wellness of elderly individuals.
• Conduct specialized grief and loss counseling for clients and their families, particularly dealing with end-of-life issues.
• Design and implement cognitive stimulation and other mental health interventions that promote mental acuity and combat cognitive decline among the elderly population.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution or university.

Compensation and Benefits
