FACTORY JOB CLASSIFICATION
TITLE: Installer/Electrician
Creative Mobile Interiors is a custom van, RV, and truck builder looking for an electrical installer. Someone who has a passion for creating custom vehicles for any application. From custom RV trailers, to tricked out tailgating motorhomes, if our customers can dream of it, we need to build it.
We are looking for an Installer and troubleshooter. Must have experience in 12-volt vehicle electrical systems as well as 110-volt residential knowledge.
JOB SUMMARY:
Install 12 volt and 110 volts wiring and other electrical components in vehicles. Test unit electrical systems and perform necessary repairs to assure safe and proper operation. Responsible for repair of potential electrical hazards in unit.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Installs and creates 12 volt and 110-volt systems with attention to detail and per all applicable codes and safety regulations.
2. May install and wire a variety of interior and exterior lights, fans, antennas, stereos, amplifiers, junction boxes, receptacles, breaker panels, fuse panels, power centers, inverters, power management systems, batteries, air conditioners, power cords, solar panels and appliances etc.
3. Recognize obvious defects in materials and workmanship.
4. May be required to repair or replace components and assemblies that are defective or damaged in installation.
5. Must read unit schematics. Use high potential electrical test equipment (hipot-training available) and insulation continuity tester (meg-training available) to identify circuit feedback and electrical shorts in unit’s 12-volt and 110-volt electrical systems. Sequentially test internal and external systems.
6. Diagnose, isolate and correct electrical troubles.
7. Follow detailed verbal and written instructions.
8. Works with minimum supervision and guidance.
9. May be directed to do other duties as assigned by Management and may be required to perform work in other job classifications at the same or lower levels.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed above satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:
1. 5+ years in knowledge of vehicle wiring, 12 volts systems, batteries, car stereos and alarms.
2. Job requires extensive knowledge of unit wiring, circuitry, and electrical troubleshooting for 12v and 110v systems.
3. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work on more than one assignment at a time
4. Analytical, patient, tenacious personality.
5. Factory noise level is average.
6. Must be able to stand, sit, or squat down working on vehicles for long periods of time.
7. Must observe safety regulations, knowledge of lock out tag out, and wearing personal protective gear while at work.
8. Must be able to lift up to 40lbs
9. Responsible, trustworthy individual required to perform work in customer’s unit where personal goods and valuables are kept.
10. Good attendance record.
11. Skills in carpentry, cabinetry, other trades a plus.
12. Employee is expected to provide their own variety of hand tools including screw drivers, wrenches, sockets, pliers, tape measure etc.
13. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, engineering drawings and schematics, warning labels and procedure manuals.
14. The individual must have the ability to accurately read a tape measure, operate basic electrical diagnostic meters and perform basic math skills.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and work experience are required.
Advanced or trade school education is a plus.
Prior experience as an electrician is of value.
