Active Skill Wellness is actively seeking a dedicated Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our compassionate team in the heart of Corpus Christi, Texas. This full-time role requires an individual who is not only skilled and knowledgeable but also has a deep passion for improving the lives of children. Work Environment

The successful candidate will work onsite in our Early Interventional Center in Corpus Christi, providing a collaborative setting designed to foster optimum patient care and professional growth. Key Responsibilities

As a Pediatric Occupational Therapist, you will be entrusted with a variety of important responsibilities that significantly impact the development of our young patients. These include:

• Conducting thorough evaluations of patients' functional abilities through standardized tests, clinical observations, and interviews with both patients and families.
• Creating personalized treatment and educational plans that address each child's unique needs and circumstances.
• Implementing innovative therapy techniques designed to enhance children's functional potential, allowing them to engage in daily activities with greater independence.
• Consulting with our diverse medical team and other allied health professionals to craft comprehensive intervention plans.
• Documenting all clinical findings meticulously to ensure continuity of care and effective communication among team members.
• Providing family counseling and training to empower caregivers and involve them actively in the therapeutic process.
• Maintaining proficiency in working with children with feeding and swallowing impairments, which is essential for developing effective therapy strategies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on children who may be at risk for developmental delays, including those suspected of having autism spectrum disorder. You will work closely with a diverse patient demographic, tailoring interventions that promote overall developmental growth, enhance independence, and address individual challenges related to daily living skills.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an AOTA accredited program.
• Active national certification through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers, issued by the American Heart Association.
• A valid driver's license and applicable auto insurance.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while utilizing critical thinking skills to navigate complex patient care scenarios.

Preferred Experience

• Doctorate Degree (non-MD) in a relevant field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience working in pediatric rehabilitation settings.
• Board certification in advanced practice areas like Sensory Integration or Pediatric Therapy.

Compensation and Benefits
